Owners of Tarlesson Farms background
Tarlesson Farms was established in 2006 owned and run by Rev. Roosevelt Tarlesson Sr., Lyn’Niece Tarlesson, Roosevelt Tarlesson Jr., Keimue Tarlesson and Taihpan Tarlesson. Since 2006, we worked closely with our father Rev Roosevelt Tarlesson Sr. He is a regenerative, renowned organic farmer in California and he provides us strong mentoring, contributing to our development of farm management and operation skills.
Our father, Rev. Roosevelt Tarlesson is the first farmer in California and one of the first farmers in the United States to participate in the National Organic Program from 2008-2014 and also has completed the United States Department of Agriculture Environmental Quality incentive Program. Rev Tarlesson also teaches the following: Conservation crop rotation, cover crop, fencing, irrigation water management, nutrient management, pasture and hay planting, restoration and management of rare or declining habitats, structure for water control, seasonal high tunnel system for crops, and strip cropping.
Rev. Tarlesson is a co-founder of the California Farmer Justice Collaborative (CFJC), which spearheaded both the authorship and passage of the landmark Farmer Equity Act (AB 1348) in 2017 in the state of California. Rev. Tarlesson is a current member of California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and Underserved Farmer Advisory Committee. He is a co-founder and Executive Director of the National Economic and Social Development Action Committee (NESDAC). He is also the founder of U-Farm and Home, LLC (farmer cooperative/worker owned company.
Lyn’Niece D. Tarlesson is Grebo Organic International's co-founder and CEO; was born in San Francisco 1998. She has an environmental lifestyle that will change generations in all communities with the love for health and a commitment to organic foods. Also with the passion of photography capturing memories of the developmental change in the Community with authentic whole foods such as freelance pastured animals, fresh organic produce from Califonia soil, & African Liberian spices inspired by grandfather Roosevelt Tarlesson.
